Feeling better matters. For you and the people who love you.
Evidence-based, personalized therapy for teens, young women, and families in Leawood & Prairie Village, KS and the Kansas City area.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Maybe it’s the same argument on repeat. A relationship that has lost its closeness. A season of life that has you stuck. You want change, but you’re not sure where to start or what direction to go.
That’s okay. You don’t need all the answers or a perfect plan. Asking for help and showing up is the hard part, and you’re already here.
“Melanie Davis is a clinician I trust deeply. She listens closely, lets each client's story guide the work. She uses CBT and related approaches to help people move forward. She has a particular gift for working with female teens and adults.”
- Caroline Danda, PhD Licensed Psychologist
A safe space to heal.
Imagine working with a therapist who understands the science behind mental health and values each person as an expert on their own unique life experiences.
There's no one-size-fits-all therapy here. Whether you're facing anxiety, perfectionism, relationship struggles, or the pressure to have everything figured out, you'll have someone walking alongside you.
Insight creates possibilities. Practice creates change.
Therapy Services
Evidence-based therapy can move you beyond symptom relief toward a deeper understanding of yourself and your family, greater resilience, and healthier relationships. If faith matters to you, it can and should be part of our work.
Teen Therapy
Teens and tweens carry a lot, even when they say they are "fine." Therapy offers a space to sort through anxiety, stress, and big feelings with someone who listens first and communicaets with understanding and curiosity.
Parent Coaching & Family Therapy
When the same argument keeps coming back, it's usually the pattern that needs attention, not the people. Parent coaching and family therapy can help you respond with empathy, hold your boundaries, and reconnect with those you love most.
Adult & Couples Therapy
Whether you're working through anxiety, a stuck season of life, or distance in your relationship, therapy can help you gain understanding and move forward with intention and confience.
Therapy for Young Women
Between expectations, comparison, and the pressure to have it all figured out, it's a lot. Therapy can help you build confidence, resilience, and a clearer sense of who you are.
Meet Dr. Melanie Davis, Clinical Psychologist
You deserve a safe, welcoming place to say what you're really thinking and feeling. Here, you'll find curiosity, not judgment. Dr. Davis has spent over 20 years as a clinical psychologist helping individuals and families manage anxiety and expectations, navigate relationships, and build lives that are meaningful, not just successful on paper.
As a mother of three young adult daughters, she understands the family side of the story, too. Her approach is warm, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care, with room for your faith and values. And yes, there's a dog! Lottie is usually in the office, and clients tend to love her.
What to Expect
Dr. Davis's approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. Her goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and equipped with something useful to try next. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. You can start exactly where you are.
First Visit
Your initial assessment runs 75 to 90 minutes. We'll talk through what's going on and what treatment would involve, with the goal that you leave feeling seen and with something useful to try right away.
Ongoing Sessions
Sessions last 50 to 55 minutes, usually weekly or every other week at first, because early momentum matters. Most clients then taper to occasional check-ins, as determined together. Secure video is available when appropriate.
Between Sessions
You'll get practical tools and strategies to use in everyday life, because practice is what turns insight into progress. You can also communicate with Dr. Davis through our secure, HIPAA-compliant online client portal.

That's quite common, and it doesn't mean change isn't possible. We can start with you. Relationships are interconnected, so when one person changes, the dynamics often shift too.
-
I share general themes, but not the details. Teens need to trust that their sessions are private, and that trust is what makes therapy work. The exception is safety: if a teen is in danger, we'll share that together.
-
Details about fees, insurance, and payment are in the Fees & Insurance section above, so you'll know exactly what to expect before we start.

Yes! I'm a PSYPACT provider, which means I can offer telehealth to clients in most U.S. states, including when they move or head off to college.

Only if you want it to be. I use evidence-based approaches with every client, and for those who desire it, I also offer Christian counseling that incorporates faith, Scripture, and prayer.
